Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Every image is processed inside your browser and never leaves your device, so it's safe for client work and unreleased designs.

Why can't I save as AVIF?

AVIF encoding depends on your browser. Chrome and Edge support it; if yours doesn't, WebP is the next best choice.
